Friends Who Live In Japan Know About Japanese YouTubes
I have known my friend, Gabe, since preschool. I immediately liked him based on the fact that he owned the Ghost Busters’ Fire House. And when we first started playing army and I felt guilty about the idea of pretending to kill people, Gabe is the one who taught me about Nazis. “Oh, these Nazi’s sound bad. I can totally pretend to kill them!” I said. “Bang Bang Bang, GET DOWN!! My name is Danny!” I liked pretending my name was Danny at the time.
Anyway, in high school and into college Gabe was very into meat, Grateful Dead tee shirts, and Doc Martins. Then within two years he became a vegan, moved to Japan, and is now engaged to a lovely Japanese girl. So that brings us up to speed on how it is that my friend, Gabe, knows about this YouTube clip from a Japanese show where 100 people spontaneously start chasing someone to see if they will run away.
Yes, Japan. You did it again. That is fun to watch. Gabe and Japan are the big winners. I’m going to trust that the Japanese TV executives came up with this idea independently instead of ripping it off from the first few seconds of the Drew Carey Show opening credits.
