Drama Mama: The Sookie Monster

Couldn’t afford the time-share in the Hamptons this year? Neither could Drama Mama. Fortunately, there’s still some good TV this week for those of us not taking the jitney out of town. Here’s what to look for:

True Blood” (Sunday, 9 p.m., HBO) and “Hung” (Sunday, 10 p.m., HBO)
Have you been playing the drinking game where you take a shot every time Bill chastens Sookie like she’s a bad dog when she says or does something stupid? Well, for every time Bill’s spit her name between his fangs, Mama’s already yelled it at the screen tenfold, and this is only the season’s third episode. This Sunday, Sookie makes a colossally idiotic decision (I mean, teenage girl in a slasher flick idiotic) and Bill may not be around to save the poor waif from herself. Then, I know we’ll all stay tuned to see Thomas Jane and Anne Heche in “Hung,” where a down-on-his-luck teacher decides to use a particular physical attribute to provide for his family’s future. Sounds like it will be “Breaking Bad” meets “Boogie Nights.”
