CBS Confirms Neil Patrick Harris as Emmy Host
We told you Neil Patrick Harris was eying the Emmys, and now CBS has confirmed it.
Harris, who brought in 7.45 million viewers for the Tonys — a 19 percent increase from the previous year — will return to host TV’s biggest night.
“After having had such a hoot hosting the Tonys, I was thrilled to get the call about the prime-time Emmys,” says the former “Doogie Howser” star.
Harris, who has earned one Golden Globe and two Emmy nominations for his role as Barney Stinson on “How I Met Your Mother,” says he’s having a tough time deciding which voice to use during the ceremony.
“I’m torn between gangsta, foppish Brit and robot. Really proud of my robot. We’ll see what happens on the night.”
