On December 8, 2009, VH1 will be doing what VH1 does best: Looking back on the year that was, and then slurring, loudly, “WTF?” It’s VH1’s 2009: That Really Happened?! And you have to admit, 2009 was pretttttty effed. From Twitter to Twilight and Speidi to Susan Boyle to Balloon Boy to the Gosselins to Michael Jackson dying* (*and everyone else). 2009 was this. (In other words, a rap song from 1991.)

DJ Steve Porter — who you might know as the genius behind the Slap Chop Remix — has strung together some of the most delusional, shocking, confusing and infuriating moments of the year in this 2009: That Really Happened?! Remixxx!, a song made all the better by Christian Bale’s Rant. (Yes, that happened this year.) Watch in amazement, sing it later today, and make sure to catch the one-hour year-end special “2009: That Really Happened!?!” premiering on VH1 Tuesday, December 8 at 9 PM.
